Day 1.
Depart Adelaide at our earliest (8-9am) with the intention of making Pt. Germain our destination to view arguably at once stage the longest jetty in australia with it’s lighthouse and tidal clock. We will have lunch at the Village Cafe, before heading off through Pt. Germain Gorge, historical Melrose and into and explore Alligator Gorge. From here we will travel through Wilmington , Horrocks Pass to make our evening destination of Highway One Motel in Pt.Augusta
Day 2.
Leaving Pt.Augusta will travel to Quorn, following the Pichi Richi railway. Maybe a quick coffe break before exiting and heading into Warren Gorge, the Argadells, visit Proby’s grave, ruins at Simmonston, Kanyaka (install photos) and Death Rock before coming to Hawker where we may visit the hand painted panorama of the Flinders before departing and heading for or camp destination of Merna Mora station stay.
Day 3.
Leaving the homestead we can take a 4w drive track to visit the old Mern Mora siding (part of the original ghan line) before making our way along the Moralana scenic drive to Arkaroo Rock and see the artwork. Then bypassing Wilpena Pound at this stage, we will take the Bunyeroo road into the heart of the Flinders. Take in the view of the Flinders from the “Razorback lookout” then move on through the ranges and gorges toward our evening destination of Alpana station.
Day 4.
Make our way into Blinman where we will investigate the old copper mines and take a tour if available, before leaving via Glass Gorge and visiting the old copper mine ruins of Nuccaleena and moving on to the Praire Hotel at Parachilna and to our evening destination of Beltana homestead.
Day 5.
We can leave our gear at the homestead as it will again our accommodation for tonight. We will however visit the old township of Beltana which was an integral part of the old telegraph line to Darwin and out to sliding rock which also with its ruins and cemetery, shows us peoples determination in copper mining in the state. We will return to Beltana homestead for the evening
Day 6.
Departing Beltana we will make our way towards Leigh Creek, Copley and on to historical Farina. Investigate and photograph this wonderful place as well as the soldiers memorial and cemetery near by, before returning to Copley our chosen camp spot for the evening.( be sure to try the home made quandong and meat pies from the bakery)
Day 7.
Departing Copley we will head back down the highway, turning off into Brachina Gorge and into Wilpena Pound. We shall have lunch before those who wish to can take the 2 hour return walk into the pound proper before departing to get to our designated camp location of the Hawker Hotel
Day 8.
Well it had to happen, we have to make our way home which we will do via the the inside route of the Flinders, with stops and breaks at Melrose, Laura and Clare, sampling golden north icecreams and some red and white wines along the way

This is a 8 day 7 night budget accommodation trip having 3 nights accommodation in hotels/motels/ cabins and 4 nights accommodation in station stays. All station stays evening meals will be campfire type cooking and or barbecue whilst the motel/hotel meals will be a pub meal of which main course is included in price. Accommodation at nominated locations is also included, however if an upgrade is requested that will at the expense of the customer.
